Cotton House – Barcelona
After navigating around the streets of Barcelona with my fingers crossed, not to hit anything or anyone, I pulled into the slip road to where my Sat Nav told me to go. Thankfully she was right as the hotels exterior is very discreet, and shows its style and distinction of class with a capital C with its subtle fine and refined exterior with simply a few plant pots and a sign leading the way. Upon arrival I was greeted by one of the staff who grinned as I handed him the Mercedes-Benz E Class Cabriolet to park for my duration. Once inside the distinguished hotel you feel calm and relaxed, though it might be that I was not driving.
I was kindly offered a walk around by the gossypium which the hotel sits of the former headquarters of the Cotton Textile Foundation. It was recently taken over by the Marriott group who completely renovated and refurbished which is now one of the top hotels for the group as it sits proudly in their Autograph collection. The hotel, which showed its splendid classical style with the fabulous Hitchcockian spiral staircase, the roof top pool, the bar and the outside gardens to the rear of the property are all exquisite.
Every room is supremely crafted and eye catching which enables you to take far too long just looking at the splendid architecture and craftsmanship in front of you.
Although there are many rooms to look at and view, I personally loved the restaurant with wonderful light illuminating the room and beckons you to view the Terrace gardens to the rear.
The rooms are simply perfect. The most softest of cotton bedding awaits to rest your weary head, which feels more like sleeping on a cloud with the 300-thread-count sheets. The luxurious room with wonderful paintings adorned with the Cotton House themed Cotton bud which seems to be everywhere. A wonderfully designed duel walk-in bath and rain shower.
Out and About in Barcelona.
The hotel is situated just 20 minutes from the airport, 15 minutes from the cruise ship port and 25 minutes to the beach. By heading to the beach you can visit the Cathedral which is deep in the Gothic Quarter. Paseo De Gracia ,Casa Batlló and La Pedrera are just 5-10 minutes away. For those who have yet to travel to Barcelona it is full of wonderful sights so be prepared to walk a lot or take a cab to the tourist locations. Barcelona offers so much in return and with a stay at the Cotton House it offers a superb and comfortable offer and a real pamper.
